About Us

Essentially Odd Jobs is a family run and owned business that offers a professional handyman service in and around Airport West. Something that started as a passion for home renovations and DIY tasks has become a well-established and reputable handyman business.

Our team at Essentially Odd Jobs has been assisting homeowners and business for over 10 years.  We can take care of all those small maintenance jobs around your home or tackle the larger projects such as a bathroom renovation or decking project.

We understand the importance of showing up on time EVERY time, getting the job done professionally and promptly, and cleaning up completely once the job is done.

Our aim is to provide you with cost effective solutions to all your problems around the home. Essentially Odd Jobs are dedicated to making sure all your renovation and maintenance requirements are completed to your satisfaction.

Gabrielle

My name is Gabrielle and I am the first person you will talk to when you give us a call.   I started my career as a Primary School Teacher which lasted 10 years and during this time I decided to extend and renovate my own home. Due to a tight budget I chose to do the job as an ‘Owner Builder’ which lead me to finding a passion for all things DIY. I had the builders come in and build the house to ‘lock up’ and then I spent the next year demolishing, laying floorboards, plastering, tiling, painting, hanging doors and doing basic carpentry. Over 10 years ago my husband and I found ourselves with an opportunity to follow a different path which has led to the establishment of ‘Essentially Odd Jobs’.  We have loved providing homeowners with professional solutions to their home maintenance and renovation projects.

Darren

My name is Darren and I have been working as your local handyman for over 10 years now.  I first discovered my passion for working with my hands in secondary school during woodworking and furniture making classes.  As an adult I became a mechanic and found an interest in tinkering with engines which has now become more of a hobby.  Over the years I have continued to develop my skills doing many home projects such as building decks & cubby houses, paving, bathroom renovation and general home maintenance.  Gabrielle and I saw the opportunity to build ‘Essentially Odd Jobs’ into a business 10 years ago which has allowed us to use our talents for DIY and provide the local community with a trustworthy, reliable and professional service.   I have loved working with our customers to transform their homes with a new coat of paint, renovating the bathroom or building a new deck.
